The one year Diploma of Missiology (Dip. M.) program is designed for those with an M.Div. degree who are preparing to serve as missionaries.
Admission
All applicants to this program must have acquired the Master of Divinity degree. See further the General Regulations for Admission.
Admission Interview
Upon acceptance of an application and prior to the commencement of the academic year, two members of the Faculty shall interview the applicant concerning the office and task to which he aspires.
Required Courses
The program consists of two major parts, the theological (75 %) and the more practically directed part (25%). The theological course is subdivided into six sections:
- Theory of Mission
- History of Mission
- History of Religions
- Methodology of Missions
- A paper on a topic related to missiological theory
- Two papers relating to the practical work on the mission field.
The non-theological part is to be taken outside the Theological College in consultation with the professor of Diaconiology. For example, a university course in the appropriate foreign language, social anthropology and the geography and history of the area of interest, may be required.
